Precision-cut punch partitions for securing cylindrical products

Custom Punch Partitions

Our punch partitions help prevent breakage in multi-component kits or fragile glass assemblies by creating custom, individual cells that keep each part in place. Instead of loose fillers, we use interlocking die-cut slots that provide the dividers with strong vertical compression. This means your products stay protected and look professional, even when boxes are stacked during shipping.

Why "Punch" Engineering Outperforms Standard Box Dividers

When you place these partitions in a box, you’ll notice the box becomes much sturdier. Unlike standard dividers that can lean or collapse, our punch style uses precisely notched slots that lock together. Our tests show this design greatly reduces the risk of the dividers folding during impacts. The grid stays firm and resists twisting, so your products stay in place, even if the package is handled roughly.

Tailored Cavities for Oddly-Shaped Inventory

Standard grids often leave too much empty space around products, which can cause vibration damage. We design our punch-style dividers to fit your items closely, whether they are slim vials, heavy parts, or delicate electronics. This close fit helps absorb shocks and reduces the need for extra packing materials. Your products arrive organized and well-presented, showing the care your brand puts into packaging.

Industrial Strength Meets Retail Aesthetics

We make these partitions in different finishes for both industrial and retail use. For tough jobs, our double-wall corrugated options give extra cushioning. For retail kits, we use smooth, thick paperboard that can be printed with part numbers or codes. This way, your packaging keeps products safe and helps keep everything organized.

Building a Complete Protective Ecosystem

Punch partitions form the main structure of your package, but they work even better with other internal parts for full protection. For example, if you ship items with polished surfaces that could scratch, adding foam inserts at the bottom of each cell gives extra cushioning.

If your shipment has technical parts that need special handling, many brands add instruction sheets in a side slot within the partition grid. For products going to customers, you can also include review request cards or insert cards that sit on top of the divider, so customers see them right when they open the box.

Frequently Asked Questions About Punch Partitions

Picking the right divider thickness and number of cells is important for safe shipping and quick packing. Here, we answer common technical questions that come up when designing a grid system for the first time.

What is the difference between punch partitions and cross partitions?

Both types make a grid, but punch partitions, also known as notched partitions, have a special punch at the slot intersections. This design locks the dividers together, so they stay in place during packing. Basic cross partitions can slide out of place more easily.

Can these partitions be shipped pre-assembled?

Yes. We can ship them flat-collapsed to save you money on shipping and storage, or pre-assembled and open so your team can drop them into the box and start packing right away.

How do I determine the right cell size for my product?

Measure the widest part of your product and add a 1/16" to 1/8" buffer. This extra space makes packing faster on an assembly line but still keeps items from moving too much during shipping.

Are these dividers recyclable?

Yes. Our partitions are made from 100% paper-based materials, either corrugated or Kraft paper, so they are fully curbside recyclable. This is a big advantage over foam dividers for brands with sustainability goals.

Can I get walls of different heights for different items in the same box?

Yes, we can design stepped partitions with some walls shorter than others. This works well for kits that have both tall bottles and short jars in the same box.
